I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel De Gaaper in Amersfoort, and it met my needs perfectly during my visit for a wedding nearby. The location was central, making it easy to explore the charming streets filled with bistros, cafes, and shops. After a long journey, Louise welcomed me warmly at midnight, which was truly appreciated. The breakfast experience was a highlight. In the cosy breakfast room, I enjoyed a delightful selection, including fresh fruit, homemade cakes, and buttery croissants. I opted for a fresh omelette and paired it with a robust coffee while seated on the sunny terrace. The buffet spread was ample, with enough variety to satisfy any palate. Although the hotel exudes a charming historic ambiance, a few decor elements felt somewhat dated. The large, modern bathroom was a welcome contrast, providing a bit of contemporary comfort. The friendly staff and clear check-in procedures made my stay effortless.
